What is Happening!

I have been WATCHING my very favorite soap opera The Young and the Restless, and a lot of Star Trek the Next Generation episodes, I also enjoy Everyone Loves Raymond–because he is such a total idiot!!

I am READING Terri DuLongs latest book in the Cedar Key Series, and loving it, I only read at breakfast in the morning and of course only if I am alone and Tom does count so I don’t read every day (I see couples who share a meal together and spend absolutely no time talking to one another, with their noses in their computers, phones, books or newspapers)

You know my main KNITTING focus has been TTL Mystery Shawl, but I am also putting in time on Boo Knits  Ocean Breeze MKAL and the Dream Bird KAL with Ria—-I frogged my first attempt, not liking the way the yarn was playing with the pattern and after two more attempts I seem to be getting the hang of it.  I am only knitting one feather at a time to keep up with Ria!  She has many irons in the fire and there is always something else for me to knit

I have been LISTENING TO CBS 101.1 FM when I am in the car, and sometimes 104.3 Image

I’ve been  THINKING ABOUT  my grandchildren a lot, I can’t believe it has been over 6 months since I have seen Rob’s kids, 6 weeks since I have seen Maisie and I haven’t seen Columbia since last September. I don’t like being a long distance grandmother!

The one thing I’ve been CELEBRATING is the glorious weather. Granted I spend most of my time indoors but its nice to know the area is thriving with great temps and sunny skies

We are PLANNING to visit Chelsea Gardens again soon and applying to rent an apartment there.  If it goes well I think we will be moving the day after my 60th birthday.

, I’m ITCHING TO make a big yarn purchase but constraints are not letting that happen, it is not something I need just something I miss doing. I thank goodness every day that I had the forethought to acquire a sizable stash when things were good.

In regards to  DRINKING,  Tom’s beverage of choice has become bourbon, with an occasional beer chaser. We have really enjoyed SHock Top Ale, but mostly I am a water and iced tea girl.

I am  NEEDING TO sit down and pay some bills, I do like online banking but a few of our accounts still require a check and a trip to the post office.

ORGANIZING used to be my strong point but lately I have been a bit blase—-i have tons of things that need to be put in their correct places but why do that when i can knit?

Tom’s cooking has been INSPIRED BY his desire for meat at every meal, my digestive system and I would love a couple of salad meals thrown in, I am actually tired of meat!  Any meat!

DELIGHTED BY the fact that we are going to visit Jeanne, John and Maisie this Sunday—all the ride is long and the traffic terrible on the way home we can’t wait to see them all.

What is happening in your world.

Sorry for the Missing In Action!!!

I”d love to tell you its because I have been so busy but I have just been so under the weather that blogging took a big back seat, I was able to be online but trying to compose thoughts was not a strong point.  The usual aches pains cramps, anxiety, panic attacks, intestinal distress and general malaise all took a toll on me, and many many sleepless nights.

I feel like the world passed me by during all of this—there were birthdays and father’s day and operations and I was never asked to even be a part of them but it didn’t make me not long to be involved.  Learning about things on Facebook instead of direct conversation has truly become the only way 90 percent of the people I know communicate with me. The old adage No news is good news isn’t true anymore—its just on facebook.

Of course I have been knitting —lots of lace and beads, that is fun and when Master Blocker resumes his roll I will share them with you–Image

We are looking into moving again—we have seen some apartments we like, a good hour south of where we are but that puts us a good additional hour away from family. But Tom needs something in his life to be easier and since work is still so iffy–it looks like it needs to be less of a commute.  He dreads the thought of another winter like this past one (although truly he was home through the bad stuff)

Hope you are hanging in there even though my posting is so scattered.   KNIT ON!!!

Yesterday woed press would not let me post anything, the meme for tuesday was about what performers, bands, concerts you have been too and I was going to list my whole six!

Gilbert O’sullivan of Clare famie in ’72

The Carpenters—we have only just begun—my recessional at my wedding in ’73

Lucille Mandrill—at a Longaberger convention

Paul Anka—also at a Longaberger convention

Trans Siberian Orchestra (I actually fell asleep during it)

and my all time favorite Kansas—-Carry ON My wayward Son, a song I played over and over when I was 9 months pregnant with my first until I knew every word by heart–and 37 years later I still do.

Today is WIP Wednesday—-and this is my summer of KAL’s (Knit Alongs for those who haven’t any idea)  I started the first one on Monday—Through The Loops Mystery Knit Along—I am using some well marinated stash, that was gifted to me when another knitter de stashed, as Tom and I sat for two hours last week untangling it and winding it we kinda know why it was discarded, just looking at it we knew it would be a night mare but its cashmere===I may not be one of the COOL KIDS using a gradient, I have finished the first clue and love it and Learned a new stitch

The Next one starts June 21 and is a Boo Knits Ocean Breeze MKAL, I will be using Hand Maiden Sea Silk in Nova Scotia gifted to me by Darcy Watts several years ago, and Hand Maiden Maidenhair in Tourmaline and 800 sea blue triangle beads.

I am also doing a KAL with Ria—we are doing the Dream Bird Shawl, she is part of group on Ravelry that takes their knitting very seriously, this will be her dissertation due at the end of August. she wanted moral support and provided the yarn—Knit Picks Chroma in Grey and Paperback, in fingering weight, we are waiting to get together to start it.

In between clues I am also knitting Cascade Shawl #3 by Brian Smith,Vixen by Tori Gurbisz and Seasons of Life by Kay Meadors, I also signed up for the Game of Thrones KAL but am waiting until all the clues are in to start it, and two more Boo Knits—summer for me will be all about lace and beads.
